GS FL™ Savings & Power Quality

The GS FL™ provides energy saving with a smooth and step-less power reduction method.

Four different levels of saving allow choosing the ideal setting based on the lighting system's usage, condition, and age, with the following typical results:

Saving Level 1 ->Typical energy saving in the range of 15% to 17%
Saving Level 2 ->Typical energy saving in the range of 17% to 23%
Saving Level 3 ->Typical energy saving in the range of 23% to 28%
Saving Level 4 -> Typical energy saving in the range of 28% to 35%

To be noted that results may vary depending on the ballast model used in the fixture. Therefore, determining the exact saving level for the desired energy saving results is part of the installation process.

Some ballast models work particularly well in combination with the GS FL™ and results can exceed expectations also at lower saving levels.

Whenever desired, our laboratories are equipped to perform ballast + GS FL™ + lamps measurements to determine recommended and exact saving levels for maximum energy saving and light quality performance. Tests conducted for maximum performance on typical GS FL™ + ballast combinations are published regularly on our technical knowledge base.

The GS FL™ works independently from the ballast; therefore, the energy audit required on the lighting system is minimal, mostly targeted at determining the number of fixtures on the lighting system utilizing T8 lamps and electronic instant start ballast as well as the overall lighting system energy consumption for evaluation of ROI and energy saving potential.

The lighting system's power quality is maintained since the GS FL™ maintains power factor and it does not introduce harmonic distortions, RFI, or EMI.

Consequently, power measurements can be easily carried out by taking current readings, which, thanks to the high power factor of T8 fluorescent lighting fixtures, correspond approximately to the active power consumption of the lighting system.
